Die hohe Arbeitslosigkeit, besonders unter Jugendlichen in den Krisenstaaten Europas, gibt Anlass zu großer Sorge. Im Rahmen der Debatte um grüne Wachstumsimpulse in Zeiten der wirtschaftlichen Stagnation in der EU werden wir in diesem Workshop das Berufsbildungssystem in den Blick nehmen. In einer Podiumsdiskussion mit hochrangigen Entscheidungsträgern aus dem Bildungsbereich und einem anschließenden Panel sollen Vorschläge zur Reform der Ausbildungssysteme diskutiert werden, durch die es besser auf die Anforderungen einer Niedrigemissions-Ökonomie eingestellt werden kann. Ein Fokus des Workshops soll explizit auf dem in Deutschland etablierten dualen Ausbildungssystem liegen. Wie können Privatwirtschaft , Gewerkschaften und Politik Strukturen der dualen beruflichen Ausbildung in Europa entwickeln? Wie lassen sich diese auf veränderte Berufsbilder ausrichten, die im Zusammenhang mit den Herausforderungen von Klimaschutz, der Energiewende und Infrastrukturerneuerung gewachsen sind? Welche Rolle können im internationalen Rahmen „Innovation Clubs for Sustainability Skills” spielen – kurzfristige Zusammenschlüsse unterschiedlicher Akteure im Bildungsbereich, die langfristige Veränderungen anstoßen können?
Der Workshop wird durch das Forschungsprojekt „Impulse für Europa – Grünes Wachstum und Erneuerung der Berufsbildung” unterstützt.

Europe is fighting with high unemployment rates, especially among young people and in the Southern member states. Considering the debate on Green Growth stimuli in times of daunting secular stagnation, this workshop will focus on the reform of the vocational education in Europe. A panel discussion with high-level decision-makers and a following working session shall present ideas for a reform of the vocational education system making it more fit for the needs of a low-carbon economy. One of the major topics of the workshop will be the German dual vocational system.
How can the private sector, unions and the government create structures for a dual vocational education in Europe? How can these structures be designed to match new job profiles that deal with the challenges of climate change, the energy transition and a renewal of the infrastructure? Which role on an international scale can „Innovations Clubs for Sustainability Skills” play – short-term consortia of stakeholders in the educational field that can trigger long-term change?
